Cable Grips & Self-Gripping Clamps for Overhead Line Work

Pulling tension tightens the grip — that’s the principle behind self-gripping cable clamps. HTC supplies cable grips from Hi-Tool and TEMA. The harder the pull, the more securely the clamp holds the conductor. This makes them the right choice for stringing, sagging, and tensioning overhead conductors. A conventional clamp would slip under load — these hold firm.

The Hi-Tool range spans a wide diameter and load capacity range. It suits covered cable, bare aluminium, copper conductors, and wire rope. TEMA’s 400 series covers conductor clamps, OPGW grips, groundwire grips, and suspension lifting clamps. All TEMA grips use hot forged, heat treated alloy steel with interchangeable liners.
