The Role

We are looking for a Despatch / Off-Hire Support person to join our branch team. This is a hands-on, varied role that sits at the heart of our operations – combining store, logistics, and hire support responsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring goods are accurately receipted, stored, assembled, and despatched, while also maintaining and preparing hire equipment to a high standard. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction, safety, and operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone practical, organised, and mechanically minded who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Despatching outgoing goods – packing, labelling, and ensuring timely delivery
• Receiving and checking inbound stock with accurate system updates
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient store environment
• Assembling tools and hydraulic systems prior to despatch
• Managing stock accuracy, labelling, and cycle counts
• Maintaining and preparing hire equipment – testing, tagging, and inspecting
• Completing off-hire maintenance and ensuring tools are ready for the next customer
• Raising job cards and tracking tool availability in the system
• Supporting hire operations – assisting customers, answering queries, and processing hire contracts when needed
• Assisting with hose assembly and repairs where required

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication and teamwork ability
• Basic computer skills and confidence using systems
• Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively
• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in warehousing, logistics, or hire industry (advantageous but not essential)
• A proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
